“With ‘Blue Mountains,’ I wanted to explore the stillness found at the very edge of the day. I chose watercolor specifically for its translucency—it’s the only medium that can truly mimic the way light filters through a high-altitude atmosphere. Furthermore, the soft, bleeding washes of pink and pale gold in the sky represent that fleeting moment of dawn when the world feels suspended and new.”

“I deliberately layered these peaks with patience, allowing each ridge to dry before applying the next deeper blue. This process mirrors the slow unfolding of a mountain horizon. The subtle touch of green in the lower foothills is a nod to the life waking up as the light descends. To me, this painting is about the luxury of space and the calming power of a distant view. In addition, it is a minimalist tribute to the peaks. This piece brings a sense of expansive peace and fresh perspective to any modern interior.”
