Artist’s Narrative:

“There is a natural rhythm to working with sheet copper that felt perfectly suited for this ‘Dolphin’ Whirligig. I wanted to capture the fluid grace of a dolphin in mid-leap, grounding that energy with a hand-shaped copper heart. Because this is a kinetic piece, the movement of the wind allows the dolphin to truly ‘swim’ in the air.

The rich, varied tones of the patinated copper provide a sense of depth, as if the metal has been weathered by salt and spray. As it spins, the descending strand of beads and the bright turquoise dolphin charm catch the light, adding a whimsical touch to the warm metallic tones. Designed to bring the serene, dancing spirit of the water and the joy of motion into your personal space.”
