I’m Mitzi, a self-taught artist and creator fueled by a lifelong passion for capturing the beauty of the natural world. From my home studio, I transform raw materials into abstract nature paintings and handcrafted copper whirligigs, which combine vibrant color with unique texture. Whether it’s a painting for your wall or a whirligig for your garden, my goal is to bring a bit of joy and light into your space. They can also be a memorable gift for the art lover in your life.
Paintings: Abstract Visions of Nature
I have been doodling, drawing, and painting for as long as I can remember. Now in my retirement, I’ve dedicated my time to experimenting with the unique textures of acrylics, oils, and watercolors.
My work isn’t just a replica of what I see; it’s an interpretation of the mountains, lakes, prairies, and flowers that move me. These “abstract visions of nature” are often housed in repurposed frames, giving new life to old materials while providing a unique, sustainable finish to every piece.
Copper Whirligigs: Dancing with the Wind
My copper creations are built to last and designed to delight. I personally cut, grind, sand, patina, and assemble every piece by hand. To ensure they “make friends with the wind” and catch the sunlight perfectly so you can “take joy in the light”, I use:

High-quality components: Professional-grade fishing line leaders and ball-bearing spinners for smooth movement.
